From testing our coastal waters to throwing our largest annual concert fundraiser, IV Surfrider's committees help ensure that our beaches and coasts are protected and there is equal opportunity for all.

The Blue Water Task Force (BWTF), is the Surfrider Foundations volunteer-run, water testing, education and advocacy program. Our chapters use this program to alert the public and officials in their communities about water quality problems and to work toward solutions.

Our policy committee is dedicated to sharing current policy updates with the community and attending hearings from Santa Barbara to Sacramento. Constantly fighting towards Surfrider's mission, the dedicated members of our policy committee are always looking for new ways to spread awareness to protect our coasts and beaches.
The goal of the Ocean Friendly Restaurants Committee is to work with local restaurants to support ocean conscious habits that reduce plastic waste and encourage sustainable practices. The hope is to certify monitor restaurants in our area as Ocean Friendly Restaurants and monitor them for Surfrider's standards, joining more than 600 establishments across the country.


Our JEDI Committee works to address environmental justice, access, and intersectional issues in our community. They are a driving source of our chapter's collaboration with other local clubs and organizations and work to support diverse voices and bring different perspectives to our environmental spaces.
The Plastic Pollution Prevention (Triple P) Committee focuses on increasing awareness about the dangers of plastics in our ecosystem and developing creative ways to engage our community to reduce plastic waste.
