After Wednesday’s rain event Depressions and Goleta Pier have medium levels of bacteria, while the rest of the sites are exhibiting clean water. Even so the state advises that you stay out of the water for at least 72 hours after a rain event, especially the first of the season. Bacteria on the land will build up over long periods before entering the ocean as run off, which is why it’s important for us to put the effort into maintaining a clean Isla Vista. Come join us for our first beach clean up of the season on October 14th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and enjoy the coming swell!
